Creating a New Build

Choose an item to build. Note that the part must:

• be an assembly (i.e. it must have a BOM)
• be released (draft items and revisions may not be built)

Drill-Down BOMs

When enabled, this option will cause the build to allocate all of the subitems within the build hierarchy. None of the subassemblies within the hierarchy will be consumed and none will be dependencies of the build.

Recurring Builds

Recurring builds are used for forecasting purposes and do not generate component demand. Only when a recurring build is used to create an allocated build is demand generated.

Transit To

The Transit To is an optional warehouse location and sublocation where inventory is transferred after finalization. The inventory unit produced by the build will be in transit until the transfer is finalized. This may be used for planning purposes to reposition finished goods to another warehouse to satisfy dependencies or safety stock requirements at that warehouse.
